ALL THE KING’S MEN (Dec. 2, 2010) Sitting on the wall… above it all. Suddenly, I’m heading for a fall. Now I’m on the ground… I look around. Broken bits and shattered dreams abound. Call the King’s Men… (all his men) Tell him to send… (all his men) I need them again… (call his men) Maybe they can repair… each rip and tear God knows, I’ve had my share… I was unaware… life is unfair. Suddenly, there’s pieces everywhere. I know what to do… call someone who will lend a hand, a hand to pull me through. Call the King’s Men… (all his men) Tell him to send… (all his men) I need them again… (call his men) Maybe they can restore… all these bits on the floor God knows, I’ve been here before… All The King’s Men declined. They never came… they’re not to blame. They only live in rhyme. Even Mother Goose can’t turn them loose, oh no... When you’re on the wall… got the world by the balls. Take a look, take care and when you fall… Call the King’s Men… (all his men) Tell him to send… (all his men) You’ll need them again… (call his men) Maybe they can replace… without a trace And get you back in the race… All The King’s Men declined. They never came… they’re not to blame. They live in nursery rhyme. They couldn’t come… they can’t help anyone. All The King’s Men refused. They never came… they’re not to blame. They only live in rhyme. They cannot hear… they will not appear. All The King’s Men… (All The King’s Men…)

(I’m So Happy To Be) ALIVE (February 28, 1978) I’m So Happy To Be Alive I was almost over on the other side I’m so happy now that I’m back home ‘Cos over on the other side you’re all alone Without a phone of your own. I’m so happy when I get a call ‘Cos over on the other side there’s nothin’ at all I’m so happy just to hear a friend Call and say ‘hello’, I know it’s not the end I’ve got a friend and I’m Alive. I’m Alive to be happy And I’m Alive to be blue Nothing really matters, you could break my heart I could bear the pain, again tear me apart I wanna grow much older gracefully But nothing really matters don’t ya see? Just to be Alive is good enough for me! I’m So Happy To Be Alive I know that you’ll agree when you see the other side It feels so good to me to feel the sun Even when the rainclouds have him on the run I know the sun will come again. I’m so happy, I’m so happy, I’m So Happy To Be Alive today I’m happy, yes, I’m happy, I’m So Happy To Be Alive today I am happy, you bet I’m happy, I’m so happy to realize I won first prize ‘cos I’m Alive today.

Carry On 03:27
CARRY ON (March 2, 2013) Celebrate what you have today Don’t be late for your life Celebrate all your days away Don’t hesitate… It’s your life Don’t miss the dance… Don’t miss your chance… one must advance And Carry On… (Carry On). Carry On… (Carry On). Celebrate like each day’s your last And we’re only here for you Celebrate and forget the past Every day starts anew Don’t hesitate… Do not be late… There’s no debate Carry On. How many times do we see our dreams collide? Never-the-less… Carry On… (Carry On). Carry On… (Carry On). Celebrate what you are today Don’t be late for your life Celebrate every day away Don’t hesitate… It’s your life Don’t miss your chance… Don’t miss the dance… once more advance And Carry On… (Carry On). Carry On… (Carry On). Carry On… (Carry On). And Carry On… (Carry On).

THE TEA HORSE ROAD (April 18, 2012) They rode The Tea Horse Road when Kublai Kahn was still a child They rode The Tea Horse Road long before The West was wild They rode The Tea Horse Road They rode The Tea Horse Road. They rode The Tea Horse Road before Brittania ruled the waves They rode The Tea Horse Road long before the great Crusades They rode The Tea Horse Road They rode The Tea Horse Road. I have wandered The Tea Horse Road Horses from Tibet for Sichuan gold I have pondered the porters’ heavy load Chinese tea across The Great Plateau Oh, The Tea Horse Road… Take me back to a simpler time Oh, The Tea Horse Road… Long before the train and the aeroplane Take me to The Tea Horse Road. They rode The Tea Horse Road before Columbus sailed the seas They rode The Tea Horse Road into the Twentieth Century They rode The Tea Horse Road They rode The Tea Horse Road.

NO LIFE BEFORE YOU (Feb. 24th, 2011) Can’t remember life without you… How could I have ever lived alone? It must have been a waste of time and tears. You appeared from out of nowhere… Destroyed the very meaning of despair I can’t believe I’ve waited all these years. There was No Life Before You There was no reason to get out of bed There was No Life Before You There was no reason so I stayed right there instead and let the world go by. Every day was spent in waiting and every night was wasted counting sheep I never knew that I was incomplete. There was No Life Before You There was no reason to get out of bed There was No Life Before You There was no reason so I stayed right there instead and let the world go by. My heart was sleeping while hope was scheming My head was dreaming of you Life held no meaning… No hope of healing Someday, some feeling of two. There was No Life Before You There was no reason to get out of bed There was No Life Before You There was no reason so I stayed right there instead and let the world go by.

IF I COULD DANCE March 4, 2013 If I Could Dance what’s the chance You’d dance with me… me and the Symphony? If I should sing all evening would you stay? Would you say okay? And spend the night while I recite Poetry with tea and botany That’s flowers is what I mean to say For hours we will breathe that sweet bouquet. If I could cook without the book Would you dine? Dessert will be divine! If I should play throughout the day and then all night Would that be impolite? Don’t answer that… play diplomat Of course it’s wrong but it fits into this song So nicely and it brings me to precisely What I’ve been trying to say… With all the men in the world You let me make you my girl And as of today I’m pleased to say “I’d do it all again… right from the heart” If I Could Dance what’s the chance You’d dance with me… me and my Symphony? If I should sing this evening Will you stay or will you go away? And leave tonight while I recite Such poetry all about you and me If I Could Dance… If I Could Dance If I Could Dance… If I could only dance!

THE CHARGE OF THE LIGHT BRIGADE (April 11, 2013) Half a league, half a league, Half a league onward, All in the valley of Death Rode the six hundred. “Forward the Light Brigade! Charge for the guns!” he said: Into the valley of Death Rode the six hundred. “Forward the Light Brigade!” Was there a man dismay’d? Not tho’ the soldier knew Someone had blunder’d: Theirs not to make reply, Theirs not to reason why, Theirs but to do and die: Into the valley of Death Rode the six hundred. Cannon to right of them, Cannon to left of them, Cannon in front of them Volley’d and thunder’d; Storm’d at with shot and shell, Boldly they rode and well, Into the jaws of Death, Into the mouth of Hell Rode the six hundred. Flash’d all their sabres bare, Flash’d as they turned in air Sabring the gunners there, Charging an army, while All the world wonder’d. Plunged in the battery-smoke Right thro’ the line they broke; Cossack and Russian Reel’d from the sabre-stroke Shatter’d and sunder’d. Then they rode back, but not Not the six hundred. Cannon to right of them, Cannon to left of them, Cannon behind them Volley’d and thunder’d; Storm’d at with shot and shell, While horse and hero fell, They that had fought so well Came thro’ the jaws of Death, Back from the mouth of Hell, All that was left of them, Left of six hundred. When can the glory fade? O the wild charge they made! All the world wondered. Honour the charge they made! Honour the Light Brigade, Noble six hundred! Alfred, Lord Tennyson First published December 9, 1854 in The Examiner.

In The Sun 03:21
IN THE SUN (November 29, 2013) Sitting outside In The Sun… Sitting with my special one Here it’s not snowing, a storm isn’t blowing… I’m the envy of everyone Digging my toes in the sand… Diggin’ ‘em in ‘cos I can The ground isn’t frozen and so I’m composin’ a song while I work on my tan. We’re on the beach today We’re In The Sun We’re out of reach today Away from everyone. Nothin’ but nothin’ to do… That’s fine with me how ‘bout you? Ya wanna be floatin’… Ya wanna be boatin’ or just admire the view? Diggin’ this warm island breeze… Pass me my drink would ya please? I don’t feel like movin’, sittin’ here groovin’, it must be 100 degrees. Bathing in blue water down by the bay Everything’s okay In The Sun I’m sitting outside In The Sun… I’m thinkin’ of who couldn’t come I’m missing them dearly and doing it yearly, drinkin’ up their share of rum I’m living out one of my dreams… One with a biblical theme Oh, I am believin’ we’re Adam and Eve in The Garden of Eden it seems! We’re on the beach today We’re In The Sun We’re out of reach today Away from everyone Alone and having fun You and me, so happily In The Sun.

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN (October 16, 2013) ‘Twas a lovely day, today I walked home and arrived before the rain Came down and had a chance to turn my day around To Whom It May Concern… Things are not what they appear Dear Diary… You will be surprised with me Now I know a closer look is always apropos To Whom It May Concern… Here’s what I have learned today… Say what you will and C’est la vie Believe in what you say and say what you believe I say what I feel and C’est la vie I believe in what I say and say what I believe in. What do I believe in? Oh, what do I believe? What do I believe in? To Whom It May Concern. Today was just a day I heard someone say something so untrue… Dismay! (But nothing new)… On the TV like I always do To Whom It May Concern… To Whom It May Concern… Why won’t you… Please say what you will and C’est la vie Believe in what you say and say what you believe I say what I feel and C’est la vie I believe in what I say and say what I believe in. But what do I believe in? Oh, what do I believe? What do I believe in? To Whom It May Concern.

MY LOVE, MY LOVE (September 27, 2011) Don’t be afraid of My Love, My Love Don’t be afraid of this night When we’re together My Love, My Love Everything will be all right. When I try to give you My Love, My Love You act like you don’t want to know Don’t push me away My Love, My Love I’m beggin’ you, baby, don’t go… don’t go… Don’t go… My Love, My Love, no, no… My Love, My Love I won’t give up on you until you say ‘I do’ I won’t give up on you. Now don’t tell me never My Love, My Love I’ll hang on to my dream, although When I say forever My Love, My Love You shake your head and say ‘Go’… I won’t go… I won’t go… My Love, My Love, no, no… My Love, My Love I won’t give up on you until you say ‘I do’ I won’t give up on you. When I go to bed at night and I start to dream I dream everything’s all right and love reigns supreme! What can I do with My Love, My Love If I cannot share it with you I promise you this My Love, My Love I will love you until I am through I promise you My Love, My Love.

SAIL AROUND THE WORLD (January 17, 2011) Now let the wind fill our sails… Sail away. Sail Around The World… Adventure lie beyond the Southern Horn All the sheets unfurled… Far beyond the Line of Capricorn Very far away… Away! And pray the wind fill our sails on this day. And let the wind fill our sails… Sail away. Sail Around The World… Adventure lie beyond the Southern Horn All the sheets unfurled… Far beyond the Line of Capricorn So very far from home… Home!

WHEN THE WORLD WAS YOUNG (Feb. 19, 2012) Something that we done way back When the World Was Young Something that we done. Something that we did long ago when we were kids Something that we did. And something must be said about the poetry we read Something must be said… Don’t let them go unread… unsaid. Here we are, today, a lifetime away We can’t undo what is past, so long ago the die was cast. All that we’ve been through and more than most of it untrue All those ideals we’ve forgotten, all of those truths we can’t ignore. All those years ago… And the countless times you said “I told you so” So very long ago… That was When the World Was Young. Something there was done underneath a lustrous sun Something there was done beneath a lustrous sun… what fun. That’s the way it goes, sometimes a weed, sometimes a rose Nobody knows tomorrow until that day is done Take all the time you can borrow, so very soon the day will come When the World Was Young.
