I normally do prefer some babka or cannoli
‘Should I sit down next to her?’ I wondered
I introduced me
Sweating profusely
I said “I’d like to take you home and make…

Her robe fell to the floor… I saw the light
Then I saw something more and I began to write
‘How could she be so lovely… Fantastic’
She looked at me, blushing and said “Let’s make

She holds the World in her hands
With that perfect way of smiling and she lives right there.
Heaven on the other side of the street
Eden in her backyard where we meet
Heaven… Only 50 feet away
Eden… Where we escape most every day.
I was so blind… How could I not see?
There she was right in front of me
Laughing and living right there
She lives right there across the street
Thinking of her, my heart skips a beat
Heaven is right over there
I’ve seen her dance… I’ve watched her cry… I’m always there said I
I’ve seen her fall… I’ve watched her fly… I’ve seen it all said I
I’ve seen it all.
Heaven on the other side of the street
Eden in her backyard where we meet
Heaven… Only 50 feet away
Eden… Where we escape most every day.
As time went on we grew apart
Thinking of her always breaks my heart
And she still lives right over there
I see her fall and I watch her fly… I see it all said I
I see it all.
I dream of Heaven… She is my one obsession
I can see clearly beyond the clouds to Heaven… Heaven.

So now, it’s come to this… Grounded with but one wish
Earthbound and unable to fly away
So, I have devised a plan… I’ll be a happy man
And I’ll wear a smile for all my friends today
It’s so hard… It’s draining and boring… There’s nowhere nice to play
Complaining each morning, I’m going to find some wings and fly away.
And I might just stay there… see it through
And if I can maybe I’ll call you… I might just call you
I might just call to say ‘Hello and goodbye’.
I no longer am Earthbound
It’s goodbye but not forever… Oh, no
I’ll return when Mother Nature feels better
She has a cold and I can’t stay
Behold… I’ll fly away… Paroled on Judgement Day
I’m told my freedom has been found and I am no longer Earthbound.
Rising to greet the dawn… Crossing the Rubicon
Tilting at windmills, killing only time
While we’re complaining, abhorring… This cell and it’s restraints
Explaining, exploring the patience and the prudence of the saints.
And I cannot waver… anymore
And when I get there I will call you… You know I’ll call you
Of course, I’ll call to say ‘Hello and goodbye’.

The Colonel’s esprit searches for the lost city
The Lost City of Z… Searching in the 1920s
No certainty of success.
Where did The Colonel die?
Where does The Colonel lie?
How did he die and why?
El Dorado at dawn… Deep within The Amazon
A city of gold… A city of great wealth foretold.
Relics and ruins in jungle mounds
Temples and tombs on sacred grounds
And all around jungle sounds.
Colonel Percy… The City of Z
No guarantees but on they march
Hunting for monuments… statuary
And searching for antiquities.
Cuiaba at dawn… Trekking through The Amazon
Adversity ignored… Leading through lands unexplored
The golden hoard is the reward.
Where did The Colonel die?
Where does The Colonel lie?
How did he die and why?
Oh, where could he be? Lost… Like the Lost City
One hundred years on… Deep within The Amazon.
“I am here to attempt great things. I wish to find the lost city. A man’s reach should exceed his grasp!
I am proposing that Amazonia contain a hidden civilization. If we may find a city, where one was considered impossible to exist, it may well write a whole new chapter in human history!
The river will be our home for the next two years. We shall not fail. Mankind awaits our discoveries.”
