IF I COULD DANCE
March 4, 2013

If I Could Dance what’s the chance
You’d dance with me… me and the Symphony?
If I should sing all evening would you stay?
Would you say okay?
And spend the night while I recite
Poetry with tea and botany
That’s flowers is what I mean to say
For hours we will breathe that sweet bouquet.

If I could cook without the book
Would you dine? Dessert will be divine!
If I should play throughout the day and then all night
Would that be impolite?
Don’t answer that… play diplomat
Of course it’s wrong but it fits into this song
So nicely and it brings me to precisely
What I’ve been trying to say…

With all the men in the world
You let me make you my girl
And as of today I’m pleased to say
“I’d do it all again… right from the heart”

If I Could Dance what’s the chance
You’d dance with me… me and my Symphony?
If I should sing this evening
Will you stay or will you go away?
And leave tonight while I recite
Such poetry all about you and me
If I Could Dance… If I Could Dance
If I Could Dance… If I could only dance!
