At the dawn of time, way back when man begat mankind
The shamans sought the signs on the Solstice
Mounds were built and blood was spilt… The mages lived life to the hilt
Passing out their judgements on the Solstice
And the mystics of Antlantis believed they were gods on Earth.

A thousand years ago the Mayans made a snake of stone
That slithered down the stairs on the Equinox
And further back the Britons capped their stone circles with stone lintels
That Sol might see them pray on the Equinox
While the pharaohs bowed to Aton and wondered at what they’d made.

In The Beginning
How far back in time must we go?
When we gave up swimming
And crawled on to land long ago
Beathing the air.

Sun in my head
Every monument makes me yearn for more
Sun in my head
On the Sun Days I’m with our ancestors
Leading me to believe that we’ll never know
What we don’t know would make the libraries overflow.

Twelve thousand years maybe more
There must be many
Civilizations that came long before
But leaving no trace…
