Something that we done way back When the World Was Young
Something that we done.

Something that we did long ago when we were kids
Something that we did.

And something must be said about the poetry we read
Something must be said… Don’t let them go unread… unsaid.


Here we are, today, a lifetime away
We can’t undo what is past, so long ago the die was cast.

All that we’ve been through and more than most of it untrue
All those ideals we’ve forgotten, all of those truths we can’t ignore.


All those years ago…
And the countless times you said “I told you so”
So very long ago…
That was When the World Was Young.


Something there was done underneath a lustrous sun
Something there was done beneath a lustrous sun… what fun.


That’s the way it goes, sometimes a weed, sometimes a rose
Nobody knows tomorrow until that day is done
Take all the time you can borrow, so very soon the day will come
When the World Was Young.
